Yes, I heard you right! The weather is bad and water activities are canceled in Boracay. So, what are you going to do aside from getting soaked on the beach?
Here are some of the activities that you can do while waiting for Mr. Sun to come out of the clouds.
1. Rent a surfboard/paddleboard
For only P300, a tourist guide/surfer will teach you to use the paddleboard and rent for 1 hour. It is the only water activity in Boracay that is allowed near the shoreline when the weather is bad or a storm wind signal is up.
2. Go to Willy’s Rock
Willy’s Rock is just the most photographed landmark in Boracay. So whether it is a rainy or sunny day, you can always visit the statue of the Virgin Mary atop the rocky formation.
3. Visit Boracay Public Market
Boracay Public Market is an underestimated tourist attraction but if you want to see how the islanders go on their daily lives, I suggest that you go to the market. Souvenirs and delicacies (pasalubong) in the palengke is relatively cheaper compared to those stalls along the beach line.
4. Eat at D’Mall
D’Mall is the shopping and eating district of Boracay where you can find some fine dining restaurants and souvenir shops. The place is crowded mostly during the night when many tourists choose to spend their dinner or drinking session.
5. Swim and watch the sunset
Oh yes! It is one of the priceless things that you can do in Boracay- to watch the sun goes down while soaking in salty water. Nevertheless, watching the sunset is somehow therapeutic and the best way to cap off your vacation on this beautiful island.
Let me know if you have some other things that we can include in the list. If you are still planning to go to Boracay, you might want to check our blog article about the Boracay Guide Qr code.
