Over the years, Filipino’s favorite cooler, Halohalo, has evolved from being a summertime sweet to an all-time dessert. Much has been said about this frozen Pinoy snack and many restaurants have come up with different versions of Halohalo. But one Halohalo shop has caught our attention– the Bebang Halohalo.
We are lucky to taste some of their bestsellers. So, without further ado, let’s start giving our unbiased review.
Royal Halo Halo
Among the mouthwatering menu, the Royal Halohalo is the most eye-catching and also the most intriguing. Its price, 498 pesos, is very reasonable because it has 24 Karat Gold on top, layered with mallow fluff-edible, leche flan, cashew, pistachio, special macapuno, ube halaya, sago, mango, blueberry, peach, strawberry, pandan jelly, and frozen milk. Woah! I think the overwhelming quantity and variation of ingredients will justify its price
And yeah, you read that right. It is coated with edible gold foil as a special ingredient! This reminds me of the 1000 pesos worth of Golden matcha ice cream that I ate in Japan years ago. So I believe that the price of the Royal Halohalo has much to do with what comes with it. And for me, you can add the word “OPULENCE” after its name because it is indeed a luxury dessert that you must try!
About the experience, we started tasting the gold. And don’t worry because it is safe and tasteless. No awkward taste at all.
Then according to my husband who is a foodie, the mallow fluff-edible is the bomb. It tastes like cake icing which is just denser and sweeter. We swirled it along with the other ingredients and I am very satisfied with the overall taste. It is surprisingly good! Sweet!
Very impressive how a local food shop can reinvent a typical frozen dessert into a food art (yeah, that’s the right term!) You are not just eating the halohalo per se but you are also indulging in the very unique and great idea of food fusion. So if you want to impress someone with a Filipino dessert, you have to give him/her this Royal Halohalo.
Halo halo Presidential
The term “presidential” is truly appropriate for this Halohalo because of its good serving and delightful gastronomical experience. It is complete with frozen milk, leche flan, pandan jelly, ube halaya, sago, mais (corn), nata, banana cinnamon, langka, special macapuno, and rice crispies. For only 168 pesos, you can get a 16-oz cup of Halohalo Presidential. It yields the authentic taste of a classic Pinoy Halohalo.
Halukay Ube
The name of this Halohalo is self-explainable. You will be served with a generous amount of the ube or purple yum in a cup because it has Ube Flavored frozen milk and Ube Halaya. This is a must-try Halohalo for Ube lovers and believe me, it won’t disappoint them. Along with oozing ube flavors are lecheflan, pandan jelly, sago, mais (corn), nata , banana cinnamon, langka, special macapuno, and rice crispies.
I am sure that my mom who is an ube fanatic will love to have a cup of the Halukay Ube.
Halohalo Special
If you want to try a budget-friendly Bebang Halohalo, you can begin with their starter, the Halo halo Special. Yes, it is still special just like their other halohalo variants, and has a good amount of ingredients. (Hindi ka na talo dito!) The Halohalo Special has frozen milk, lecheflan, pandan, jelly, sago, mais, nata, banana cinnamon, ube halaya, and rice crispies.
Mango Graham
When you see a Halo halo fused with another favorite Pinoy dessert, Mango Graham, nothing will go wrong! It is one of our favorites in Bebang Halohalo.
Heavenly good! As usual, it has the graham crackers, fresh ripe mango, frozen milk combined with lecheflan, pandan, jelly, and caramel syrup. A big thumbs up to Bebang for creating this awesome dessert.
Banana Cinnamon Con Yelo
Another incredible delectable creation of Bebang Halohalo is the Banana Cinnamon Con Yelo which is their upgraded version of “saging con yelo.” It has sweetened banana, caramel syrup, frozen milk, lecheflan, vanilla, jelly, sago and rice crispies.
I am a very big fan of sweetened banana and cinnamon. That’s why when the two are combined, the dessert is on another level! It balances the sweetness of the banana and the aroma of cinnamon. I never knew that Banana Cinnamon Con Yelo can really be this good!
Are the Bebang Halohalo creations worth your money?
100% yes! No wonder it is definitely a hit to netizens and even caught the attention of some foreign visitors. If I will suggest one of their Halohalo, I’ll go for the Royal Halohalo. The experience of eating Halohalo with mallows and 24-karat gold is an exquisite indulgence and one for the books.
Aside from Halohalo, Bebang also offers different variants of Taho and hotdog sandwiches.
You can place an order thru their Facebook messenger and follow their social media accounts for more details and promo.
